Canceling False Alarms:If you set off your alarm system by mistake, you must call our central station's 24 hour number at 1-800-499-3425 and give them your alarm number and code word if you have one. Failure to do so may result in a false dispatch of police and may result in an expensive false alarm fine. Also anyone with a key to your door must be trained on how to use the alarm system. That includes neighbors, janitors, and others who only use the system occasionally. Have each person actually turn the system on and off - don't just explain to them verbally. If you change the code, be sure everyone with a door key is notified. Code Words:We recommend that you have a code word for your alarm account. There are two advantages for doing this. First, it's easier to remember a code word than an alarm number to cancel a false alarm. Second, if your alarm number is known by former employees or others, then the code word must also be known to cancel a false alarm. When choosing a code word be sure it's unique. Don't use a code word that's the same as your name or the name of your business. You can change your code word any time by faxing us during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM at (626) 444-7770 or calling our office 24 hours a day at 1-800-542-4030. You can also e-mail us at info@dialonemoore.com. Have your alarm number ready for identification purposes. Pass Codes:If your alarm sends in opening and closing reports, then every person who uses your alarm system should each have a different key pad combination. This same number could also be used by the central station for tracking and identification purposes. The following is a sample key pad combination list:
Alarm Testing:Your alarm should be tested at least weekly to assure it's operation. To test your alarm:
If you have any problems during alarm testing, tell the central station to page for service. Changes in your emergency phone list:If there are any changes in your emergency call list you should notify us by fax at (626) 444-7770, or e-mail us at info@dialonemoore.com during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM. You can also make changes to your call list by phone 24 hours a day at 1-800-542-4030. Be sure to tell the operator on duty that you want a technician paged. Failure to keep your emergency call list current may result in the central station not being able to notify anyone of emergency situations. Also if you are going out of town for any reason, be sure to notify us when you will be returning and who you want to notify during your absence. Check all doors and windows before turning on the alarm:Make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked, even if they are not on the alarm. Some alarm sensors can be affected by wind gusts, noise, birds and animals which can enter through unprotected openings. Don't block beams or motion detectors:Partially blocked beams or motion detectors can become overly sensitive and cause false alarms. Blocked detectors can also reduce or eliminate your alarm protection. Be sure there's no motion in areas protected by motion detectors:Balloons, moving signs, and falling boxes can all cause false alarms. Do not allow animals in areas protected by motion detectors unless the system was specifically designed to work with animals present. Don't turn off the electrical power to the alarm system:Standby batteries don't last forever. Know which circuit breakers control the power to the alarm system, and don't turn them off. Treat your alarm system with care:Wiring and detection devices can be accidentally damaged, and false alarms can result. Notify us of any damage, and never attempt to repair the system yourself.
